Introduction New Jersey is ranked 11th among the 50 states of U.S. and is located in the Northeastern and Middle Atlantic region of United States. New Jersey became a part of U.S in the year 1787 as the 3rd state. The constitution of New Jersey provides three branches of government: the Executive, the Legislative and the Judiciary. The executive branch consists of elected governor, lieutenant governor and other official appointed by the governor himself. The legislative branch of New Jersey consists of bicameral legislation: consisting of upper house Senate of 40-members and lower House of Representatives consisting of 80 members. Members of General Assembly are elected in odd numbered years while the Senators are elected for four or two year term. The judicial authority of New Jersey consists of New Jersey Supreme Court comprising of one chief justice and six associated officers appointed by the governor. Others courts like Municipal Court, superior court, and appellate courts carry day to day cases.
